Charmaine Storer BA(Hons), ITEC, MTI 1993
Charmaine qualified in holistic massage in 1993 and has been in private practice since then. She is a registered practitioner and accredited tutor with the Massage Training Institute.
Charmaine has undertaken a broad range of post-graduate courses, to add to and enhance the skills and techniques she has to offer.
She works with a wide variety of people, tailoring her massage to the individual’s particular needs, including specific muscular tensions, stress management, relaxation and overall wellbeing.
Now an extremely experienced and respected practitioner in Bristol, we are very pleased that she continues to be a key member of the Yew Tree Clinic team.
Charmaine has taught diploma and post-graduate courses with Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork since 1997, passing on a wealth of knowledge to new graduates. She has a particular interest in supporting less-experienced practitioners and facilitates regular supervision groups.
In her earlier years Charmaine studied law and psychology, after working in local media, housing and management training. In 1993 she decided to train in massage, initially to work on family and friends. Discovering a passion and ability for this work, she changed career pathway and has never looked back!
When not working, Charmaine enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to cook, garden and dance.
Kathryn Smith BA(Hons), ITEC, MTI
Kathryn passionately believes in the therapeutic value that touch can have, and that holistic massage & bodywork can enable somebody to have a different experience of being in their body, as well as help to build resilience, so that the body can be a resource for someone, even at times of crisis.
Each session is individually tailored to work with a person’s whole health and to promote optimum wellbeing, and Kathryn uses a range of techniques including mobilisations and stretches, deep tissue massage and breath work.
Kathryn also has many years of working with people who have experienced childhood trauma, addictions, PTSD, anxiety and feelings of overwhelm. As well as working therapeutically with a wide range of physical issues, sessions can combine talking and touch therapy techniques, mindfulness and massage, to support someone experiencing emotional distress or living with PTSD symptoms, to promote calm and build resources.
